Welcome to the Dominican Monastery Prenzlau

Experience culture and history!

The Dominican Monastery Prenzlau
Experience culture and history!

The Dominican monks have long been gone from Prenzlau. History, art, and culture have found their way into the monastic walls by now.
Elaborately restored in the late 1990s, the sacred building has become one of the best-preserved medieval monastery complexes in north-eastern Germany. The cloisters and refectory, the former guest dining room of the monks, the sacristy, and the women’s chapel serve as particular eye-catchers that invite visitors to give their imagination free rein and take a trip back through history.
Four important cultural institutions from the region are united under one roof here:
• the Museum of Cultural History with its galleries
• the historical town archives
• the town library
• the “Kulturarche” event centre

The team of the Dominican Monastery Prenzlau welcomes you.

The current hygiene rules apply to any visit.
